Trail Building Party
We have been able to get a early start on the trail building season this year and progress has been moving steady. We have moved up our section completion goals with the hope of including a much larger section of fresh Single track in this years first annual Wyco's Revenge fall Mountain Bike Classic. With this in mind I will be hosting small trail work party's most Sunday mornings. So the following is the plan for this Sunday.
When: Sunday September 16th 8am-11 or 12ish
Where to meet: gravel parking area close to shelter 5 trail connector look for the blue Kia with a roof rack.
What will we do: we will primaraly be benching and destobing trail, we may also be raking, moving brush and armoring sections with rock.
Do I need to bring tools: If you have trailbuilding tools feel free to bring them but I will be providing all the tools necessary to complete the work planned. I do strongly suggest bringing your own pair of comfortable work gloves but I will have a pair of gloves you can barrow if you forget.
Do I need to bring anything else: We will be working in the woods so appropriate clothing is recommended as you will encounter forest decorations such as poison ivy and oak. It is also recommended that you use some form of bug repellent ticks and other creepy crawly residents of the forest have been known to follow some unprepared visitors home. As we will be performing work it is also recommended that you bring some form of hydration with you while the trails are close to the lake I do not recommend drinking the water.
If you decide you would like to spend your Sunday morning playing in the forest building some trail please respond to this post or send me a text at 913-406-1546 or E-Mail me at TrailMasonCliff@Gmail.com so I can make sure to bring enough tools for everyone. If you forget still come on out I almost always pack a few extra tools just in case. Don't worry there is always enough dirt to go around. See you on the trail Cliff
